June 21, 2009 — The Obama Administration, using domain name “whitehouse.gov”, began issuing Spam to one of my email accounts in May of this year and this problem continues since that time. No previous Administration has ever sent me unsolicited email (“SPAM”).
The first SPAM message was annoying but curious in that I’d assumed it would be a one-time event since I’ve never contacted the “Obama White House”, never signed-up with the domain from whence these Spam ‘messages’ are being sent (whitehouse.gov) inorder to receive any emailed “updates” from that domain (nor Senders identified so far), never asked to be informed on anything from and by the Obama Administration (nor their “Special Assistant” nor Barack’s wife), and as a citizen, I am in no subservient position (nor is any citizen) such that I must receive any emailed contact from this Administration (nor any others, but, again, no previous Administrations sent me any unsolicited emails) that I don’t first request, not on any repeating process as is happening at this time.
This experience represents unwanted contact, in other words. It’s contact from someone who I don’t want to be contacted by, whose contact is offensive, problematic and unwelcome. When it’s done via email, as in this case, it’s Spam as it is also verging on harassment (“unwelcome contact” can become harassment to include stalking and other threatening behavior).
Also, I am not aware of any suspension-of-laws awarded to Barack Obama such that restrictions as to Spamming would be suspended in regards to him and anyone else who has a computer connected to whitehouse.gov as long as Obama-and-Crowd are in the White House or, worse, afterward.
The persons in political office who I do want to be informed by, I request to be contacted in newsletters and by direct message about specific issues. In other words, I “subscribe” to the content they issue to the public. However, no such request has ever been submitted by me to be contacted by Barack Obama in (ongoing) emails under guise of me having “subscribed” to such, either before or after the last November election results.
Moreover, today’s Spam, from Sender, “First Lady Michelle Obama” about Father’s Day, sent to me on the day of my own father’s death, is particularly and coincidentally deeply offensive, even for Spam — I repeat, it is deeply offensive (not that Axelrod’s and Obama’s [first two Spam emails] were not but no one elected or hired Michelle Obama to do anything, to my knowledge, that represents my government and the issue about which she has presumed to contact me [uninvited] is of the realm of that-which-is-reckless-and-cruel).
In other words, I’ve never requested to “subscribe” to any mailed content from, by or about Barack Obama as to same from, by or about his wife or his co-workers, and, thus, their unsolicited emails are, indeed, Spam: if a message declares, dishonestly, that a recipient must “unsubscribe” to stop being sent messages, it is, indeed, Spam; I’ve never “subscribed,” so, thus, their ongoing email stream to me is Spam.
I’ve posted each Spam email I’ve received from the Obama Administration as individual posts on this site, but today decided to maintain a dedicated page (you are here) about this ongoing event for purposes of organization and presenting the offensiveness of this event as it continues to develope, as long as it does.
LIST o’ Spam from the Obama White House FOLLOWS, as developing (in chronological order) – this LIST will expand as long as the Spamming from the Obama-Crowd continues:
(1.) BARACK OBAMA, SPAMMIN’ FROM THE WHITE HOUSE
May 15, 2009 – Sender: “President Barack Obama”
(2.) SPAM FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, ONGOING
June 04, 2009 – Sender: “Special Assistant David Axelrod”
(3.) MORE SPAM FROM THE (OBAMA) WHITE HOUSE
June 21, 2009 – Sender: “First Lady Michelle Obama”
(4.) THE O’SPAMMERS: BARACK OBAMA, ASSOCIATES, WIFE, ASSISTANTS, ENTIRE CREW
June 22, 2009 – Sender: “President Barack Obama”
Interestingly, SpamCop reports as to the characteristics of each of the above:
(1.) “(Sender’s) ISP does not wish to receive reports regarding http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/… – no date available…”
(2.) “(Sender’s) ISP does not wish to receive reports regarding http://messages.whitehouse.gov/unsubscribe?address… – no date available
(3.) “(Sender’s) ISP does not wish to receive reports regarding http://www.whitehouse.gov/privacy/… – no date available”
In my experience, what Spammer DOES want to receive reports on their lowdown, dirty Spamming?
All Spam I receive (from any source) is reported to SpamCop.net. I encourage any and all to do likewise (it’s a simple process of registering an email address with spamcop.net and then forwarding Spam to them before completing individual reports at that site — they provide instructions for individuals to report Spam, here).
