EVIL DOESN'T TAKE A HOLIDAY

From GOP Bloggers, this horrible tale of real, actual, pure wretchedness emboldened by Terri Schiavo's recent death (the Comments Section on that thread should also be read): the struggle for Mae Magouirk's life.

If Grandmothers with written Living Wills are not respected, nor are the written directives they provide, then no one is. Certainly Terri Schiavo wasn't for much the same reasons, however melodramatically the reasons were draped by those who took her life.

I wrote this before and I'll write it again and again: Terri Schiavo and others like her are losing their lives because someone projects and supposes that their disabled condition would not be worthy of ongoing life, that someone else would not chose the circumstances and so, therefore, they die. It's not a case of caring, empathy, compassion but a case of deplorable inhumanity withh many willing administrators along the way eager to be just obtuse enough to make a death possible.

Evil doesn't take a holiday. It's available and open for business all the time, never closes, waiting room is always jammed -- lots of pretty magazines and pulp to keep you busy while you wait...

UPDATE, NEXT DAY (04/09/05):
