The world — the world of the human population on a global level — is nuts. The news, it is full of crazed, mad men and women running amok, actions characterized by barbarity and something I describe as sub-civilization: human beings who have never acquired or who have abandoned on a group-scale all reference to civilization.
Amidst all of this, I am trying to establish today a basis upon which to resume posting here. Every day I sit down to read the news before writing, I question how to contribute much of anything that will make any difference to this world gone crazy.
The Middle East, Central America, Africa…what, specifically, has gone wrong with human beings in these areas? I realize that human behavior globally, individually, is and has been “crazed”, but on a mass-basis, amidst area-wide populations such as in these highly-troubled areas of the globe — Middle East, Central America, Africa, most especially — there seems to be something like an abandonment of sanity or some group psychosis having taken effect, such that it spreads insanity by increasing numbers among populations rather than establishes reason by same.
I realize I am not the first person to ask these questions. But I wonder why this insanity among human populations, by entire groups of people, is growing of late. The profound nature of this “mass violence” by certain populations leaves me speechless this week.
