Looks like a miracle to me, from San Francisco, such an overwhelming crowd showed up to witness FOR-LIFE, against abortion.
These are from Saturday, January 22nd 2011 in San Francisco, CA. There were two groups of protesters here – the Walk for Life (pro-life) group, and a mixed group of counter protesters. This is the much larger pro-life crowd (40,000 versus maybe a hundred). You can see the main index here.
As with many of these events, there was a rally (code for “speeches”) and a march. It was difficult to get anywhere near the plaza people were meeting at because there were so many people, but I kept circulating until I found a viewpoint or two where I could look inside. Then we’ll get photos of the marchers.
I’m going to be relatively light on commentary. The organizers were trying to keep things upbeat and there were a lot of happy baby signs and only a couple of folks with off-message signs. (— Continued).
Yesterday was Pro-Life Day (Jill Stanek called it “Ask Them What They Mean By ‘Choice’ Blog Day”) and many of us pro-life bloggers were asked by others who are pro-life to write about life, against abortion and against Roe v. Wade, which was passed into law on that day, January 21, thirty-eight years ago.
Unfortunately, I was not able to post yesterday due to other tasks and obligations, but I would at least like to both thank and honor the folks in and near San Francisco, CA who showed up in that city — notoriously Leftwing if ever there is a place that is so — and “protested” for life, against abortion. And today to honor life and link to other sites who do, too. Consider this my Friday, January 21 post a day late but not a hope short.
Let us all honor life, respect the lives of the unborn among us, and put an end to the idea and practice of taking human life when unborn human life is deemed to be “inconvenient” or otherwise, unwanted.
The most vulnerable among humanity are those who are not yet born but who are very much as alive as you and I, and yet who cannot defend their own lives, who cannot raise weapons to defend themselves or cannot otherwise protect their lives against the onslaught of some who would take their lives. The unborn can — and do — cry out for help, and here we are, the help they need.
Michelle Malkin’s post about the gates of hell in Philadelphia, an abortion “clinic” of hatefulness and abysmal cruelty upon human life (“physician” and assistants recently arrested and charged with murder, among other evil deeds):
The Philadelphia Horror: How mass murder gets a pass
– by Michelle Malkin, January 21, 2011
I take this moment to remind everyone who reads this about the ongoing histories of pro-abortion advocacy maintained by Barack Obama (and wife) and more specifically, their advocacy of murderous practices upon the living such as have been conducted for years — with public funding — by this wretched hellhole in Philadelphia: “partial birth abortion,” the willful taking of human life after live birth, by various deplorable methods.
In Barack Obama’s case, he has actually, seriously, voiced his support for “allowing” a live human being born after a “botched abortion,” to perish by neglect, advising medical care to be withheld from such a human child, going so far as to support leaving such a child to perish in a closet, unattended, neglected.
Monstrous. That is monstrous. But that and other grisly practices are included among the acts in the Left’s sanitized term called “partial birth abortion”.
All this possible — and funded by taxpayer dollars even against taxpayer wishes — because of Roe v. Wade, and because of politicians in our government who look the other way when the facts of what they have made possible are exposed. It is certainly likely that there are other hellholes in our nation such as has been discovered in Philadelphia (reported above), and the human life murdered in such places uncounted, innumerable, deplorable and fully condemnable under all circumstances.

Stanek weekend question: What are your reflections on the 38th anniversary of Roe v Wade?

Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity is October 17, 2011
— though I am not sure what remaining silent on any day any longer will accomplish to end the gruesome practice of murder of the unborn, this site states that as intention for, appropriately, persons enrolled in schools, where they are suggested to observe a day of silence toward this end, to make a pro-life statement.
