Today’s vote represents an ongoing nightmare: the so-called DREAM Act that won’t go away despite the American public time and time again decrying Congress wake-up from this delirium of amnesty for illegal aliens.
History has proven conclusively that amnesty does not solve any problems caused by an illegal alien population in our nation, it only serves to amplify the illegal alien population. The Democrats approach this problem of an exceptionally expensive and offensive-to-the-Constitution (and to our national security, our deficit, our nation’s sovereignity, our integrity, our citizens and legal immigrants) in the same way they approach the economy: counter-productively. The Democrats reward the problematic conditions and, therefore, exacerbate the problems in never-ending round-and-round fashion. Our problems grow worse and worse and Democrats service the problems and not the solutions.
The DREAM Act attempts to implant amnesty — U.S. citizenship, legal residency — for illegal aliens who arrived in the U.S. as children (before they were the age of sixteen) with a few indulgent requirements: that they attend a U.S. college or serve in our military. But the Nightmare Act involves countless millions of U.S. taxpayer-funded luxuries and giveaways to the illegal alien population that insults not only U.S. citizens and taxpayers but also legal immigrants.
The Nightmare seeks to bestow these exceptions on illegal aliens up to the age of thirty-five, and, if this Nightmare Act passes, they will receive amnesty as will their parents and other relatives who may not yet even be here in the US legally or not, via chain-migration. The Nightmare Act is not “just” about a population of “children” as many in the media and among Democrats would have the voters assume — it would affect, if passed, countless millions of illegal aliens and many more who they could usher in afterward, most to cost the taxpayers even more afterward.
Not only citizenship via amnesty, these illegal aliens (and illegal alien relatives and relations), but in-state tuition rates at colleges in many states.
Harry Reid has dredged this mess up time and time again and today he’s demanding the Senate vote on this latest rendition he’s pushing.
