This country deserves better. Any country deserves better. Better than this. A man supposed to be in charge but out of control, his speech, his statements, his belabored performances, out of reason, beyond the decent, irrational often, the profane elaborations of a guy gone gutteral. Our nation, any nation, does not deserve this, yet there it is, Barack Obama and his plummeting high profile now in the gutter and worse, apparently comfortable with that view.
Big problems to solve, complicated and shaky conditions with which to contend, and there he is, Barack Obama, insinuating — and not by accident — that Republicans are the “n-word,” the sub-class that he says should “ride in back” of that wreck-of-fools he claims to be driving.
Had Obama called Republicans “pedestrians,” that would have worked to some degree to get the point across that he’s excluding a vast number of Americans from his plans — which when closely considered by Republicans, is a good thing but not when it’s the perspective of someone in the Presidency, that Office that’s supposed to represent all of us in this nation — but he didn’t even grace the moment adequately to call us “pedestrians,” no, he placed Republicans in the notorious back-of-the-bus reference familiar to the audience to whom he was speaking, a “Black” audience. Obama referred to Republicans as “the n-word”, obvious in the reference, assigned to “sit in back.” Inexplicable for any motive or reason other than a guy with a microphone acting very, very badly for cryptic purposes: to agitate, to throw some sort of word-bonfire-of-hatred.
Then there was Obama’s October 25, 2010 crass appearance for the money–to-run in Rhode Island: a fundraiser arranged with special foods for dinner, quite a gourmet event, at the cost of $7,500.00 a seat at the table to dine. Obama showed up, delivered campaign lines and then left after rejecting the meal itself, claiming he was going to “scoop the poop” elsewhere. At a dinner party. Before the dinner. “Scoop the poop.” Bad taste doesn’t approach describing his words and behavior — though he did leave having benefited from the money collected.
Leaving no doubt about his gutteral perspectives — though “gutteral” is too pristine a description for this offensive speech from Barack Obama, from anyone in the Presidency — there Obama was, referring to Americans as “enemies”.
In a radio interview that aired on Univision on Monday, Mr. Obama sought to assure Hispanics that he would push an immigration overhaul after the midterm elections, despite fierce Republican opposition.
“If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, ‘We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us,’ if they don’t see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it’s gonna be harder and that’s why I think it’s so important that people focus on voting on November 2.”
Our country — any country, all countries — deserve so much more from people in elected office than this, than Obama’s abysmal displays from down in the gutter. I continue to ask: what’s wrong with this man’s mind? Or, rather, his soul?
