Barack Obama is reiterating his repackaging of American history as declared by him last year in Cairo: “Islam has always been a part of America.”

He’s announced he’ll have another White House party, and this time it’s for Muslims to celebrate eating food. So they’re going to eat food and be Muslims in the White House and celebrate a Muslim holiday. In the White House. In America, where Muslims have not “always been a part of America” and it’s highly dubious whether they are today a part of America. Some individuals are Muslims who are citizens, yes, but the issue is the “nation of Islam” presence and national history.

Barack Obama to Host Ramadan Dinner at the White House
Ahlul Bayt News Agency, August 12, 2010

“I want to extend my best wishes to the 1.5 billion Muslims around the world – and your families and friends – as you welcome the beginning of Ramadan,” Obama said in an official statement issued by the US State Department.

“Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality. And here in the United States, Ramadan is a reminder that Islam has always been part of America.”

The White House, he said, would host fast breaking dinner.

“I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan here at the White House later this week, and wish you a blessed month.”

What is it, exactly, that is wrong with Barack Obama’s mind? For someone who is touted to be quite so “intelligent” and well educated, he makes these not-true-statements (“Islam has always been a part of America”, for example) and does so with gravity, indicating he really believes what he’s saying.

Is it really a small issue when a person in the U.S. Presidency makes these dishonest declarations on such significant issues as our nation’s history, and in reference to a culture that is quite the brewing stew of threats upon humanity as is Islam? Exaggerating a resume is one thing but a President addressing an entire “nation” that has already established itself as a fountain of ~difference of perspective~ to our nation’s is a demonstratively serious matter.

Regarding Obama’s Cairo speech of June 04, 2009, from whence his lie was told originally:

Obama Revisionism: Adams and Jefferson, Friends of Islam
— by Andy McCarthy, June 04, 2009

The president in Cairo this morning:

… Islam has always been a part of America’s story. The first nation to recognize my country was Morocco. In signing the Treaty of Tripoli in 1796, our second President John Adams wrote, “The United States has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Muslims.” … And when the first Muslim-American was recently elected to Congress, he took the oath to defend our Constitution using the same Holy Koran that one of our Founding Fathers – Thomas Jefferson – kept in his personal library.

Hmmm. A couple of years ago, Chris Hitchens wrote an interesting article in Slate called ”Jefferson’s Quran — What the Founder Really Thought about Islam”…

…it’s fascinating, especially this bit of history that Obama somehow failed to mention this morning when revisiting (or I should say, revisioning) Adams, Jefferson, and that oh-so-warm relationship between the Morocco and the fledgling United States:

[I]n 1786, the new United States found that it was having to deal very directly with the tenets of the Muslim religion. The Barbary states of North Africa (or, if you prefer, the North African provinces of the Ottoman Empire, plus Morocco) were using the ports of today’s Algeria, Libya, and Tunisia to wage a war of piracy and enslavement against all shipping that passed through the Strait of Gibraltar. Thousands of vessels were taken, and more than a million Europeans and Americans sold into slavery. The fledgling United States of America was in an especially difficult position, having forfeited the protection of the British Royal Navy. Under this pressure, Congress gave assent to the Treaty of Tripoli, negotiated by Jefferson’s friend Joel Barlow, which stated roundly that “the government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion, as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen.” This has often been taken as a secular affirmation, which it probably was, but the difficulty for secularists is that it also attempted to buy off the Muslim pirates by the payment of tribute. That this might not be so easy was discovered by Jefferson and John Adams when they went to call on Tripoli’s envoy to London, Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman. They asked him by what right he extorted money and took slaves in this way. As Jefferson later reported to Secretary of State John Jay, and to the Congress:

The ambassador answered us that [the right] was founded on the Laws of the Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have answered their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.

(– Continued).

Not so much as a contribution to America by “Islam” so I see no “part” that Islam has been as to America. The only relationship, if it can be called that, was as the only ‘nation’ — specifically, pirates, Muslims — that the U.S. ever went to war against (during Thomas Jefferson’s Presidency).

I ask again, what is wrong with Barack Obama’s mind? Does he truly believe these false declarations he’s making, is he unaware of what he’s saying, or, is he declaring falsehoods such as this intentionally? Any of those possibilities are gravely concerning and place our nation at considerable risk — another White House party doesn’t compensate that level of recklessness, whatever the possibility/ies may be.

President Bush was declared “Muslim friendly” (as was the “Republican Party”) for recurring recognition from the White House of the end of Ramadan. But, to his credit, President Bush did not accompany that recognition with false and misleading statements about our nation’s history as Obama is doing, and repeating.

The question isn’t that Muslims are “recognized” by the White House but that they are singled out for Presidential praise or celebration (“official” or on behalf of the nation, what with the President representing the nation) that is misplaced if not wrongly presented by a White House that, by comparison, in Obama’s case, rejects other annual traditions that this nation has long-welcomed and celebrated. Like the National Day of Prayer, that Barack (and wife) refused to recognize last year.

…like last year, Mr. Obama himself will not hold any official prayer day observance at the White House. His predecessor, George W. Bush, had held an annual interfaith observance in the East Room of the White House.

Barack Obama in his Cairo speech, said, “I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America ‘s story.”

Dear Mr. Obama:

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day? Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution? Declaration of Independence? Bill of Rights?

Didn’t think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country’s freedom from England? No.

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America? No, they did not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery. Your own half brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as “pug nosed slaves.”

Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family’s “rich Islamic heritage,” doesn’t it, Mr. Obama?

Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country? Not present.

There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King, Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

Where were Muslims during this country’s Woman’s Suffrage era? Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so, that often they are beaten for not wearing the ‘hajib’ or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband. Yep, the Muslims are all for women’s rights, aren’t they?

Where were Muslims during World War II? They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi’s in killing Jews.

Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001? If they weren’t flying planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the Middle East.

No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day.

Strangely, the very “moderate” Muslims who’s asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo, Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9/11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.

And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the “rich heritage” Muslims have here in America…

Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates. They were Muslim.

And now we can add November 5, 2009 – the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan.

That, Mr. Obama is the “Muslim heritage” in America…
