The drama of Democrats, the hubris-approaching-craziness of pushing forward in refusing to step down when identified as engaged in fraud or malfeasance or fraud. Democrats don’t step down, step aside or relinquish seats in Congress, they just maneuver to a different orientation behind podiums or on committees.
Charles Rangell says he’s “taking a leave of absence” from his position as head of the House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee (that means he’s Chairman of the Congressional Committee responsible for all-things-taxation) which allows him (and the Pelosi Swamp) to present as somehow abiding by complaints or at least acknowledging some of his bad deeds, bad ethics and such, but, no, he’s just taking some leave but he’s going to maintain his voting capacity on that same House Committee.
Rangel has maintained a position chairing the one House Committee that is responsible for our tax laws while leading a life (for years now) committing various ethical “violations” including not paying his own taxes. And not reporting income that he would have tax liabilities on should he have reported it. Among other clearly bad deeds on an ethical level, particularly for a guy in his position in Congress.
CHAVEZ THE STAIN (contains Rangel statements)
UPDATE: crazy rotten-mouth Pete Stark to assume Rangel’s Committee duties (nation dumps a tax-cheat, gains a nutcase); I’m recalling something I read about a year ago that Stark is chummy with blabber-rotten-mouth (and cheater) Barney Frank — will post that if I can locate it tomorrow.
