Our human race has lost an infectious agent from our midst and I hope the rate of infection attributable to Patient Zero, Walter Cronkite, will be mollified by greater exposure as to how disturbed this operative was. But, alas, I’ve seen the headlines today, and, the rewriting of history has already begun: tonight we’re all reading and hearing that Cronkite was some grand wizard of inspiration. All of that, however, from others of his kind, the Left, Liberals in media who need continuous fantasy presented as the real in order to maintain perspectives that Cronkite inspired but which are hardly inspirational except to others who are similar operatives to the same politic Cronkite represented: “America, the Bad, to be ‘changed’.”
But Cronkite’s infected operations were grievous to the health of our United States by contributing greatly — to a population newly-introduced-to-broadcast “journalism” — a higher dose of illness of the political (and politically sneaky) kind than our collective awareness allowed throughout most of the time his worst damage was being inflicted. Cronkite seized a few generations of the trusting and convinced them daily of his tales and stories and opinions as representing reality, or, “truth” by way of “news”, which was patently misleading propaganda presented as the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite.
For those who didn’t experience Cronkite’s theatrics during the Vietnam War, today could be a day of tearfully remembering some elderly snooker of a besmircher, whatever, but what, in reality, Cronkite nearly single-handedly created was an anti-war movement that didn’t stop at the opining level of some intellectual considerations, but cost the lives of millions of human beings. All by himself, Cronkite betrayed a very large number of human beings — many of them Americans in our military and also many citizens of South Vietnam — and they paid for Cronkite’s evening luxuries with their lives.
To our detribute as a nation, Cronkite’s contributions were deathly. They were deathly because Cronkite’s infectious interpretations of information were subterfuge, covert, an operation dressed up in “trust me, I’m a journalist”.
I long for the cumulative hours this cryptic bad man usurped from my youth when he occupied the televised news and infected the airways by violating trust.
And that’s the way it was throughout his escapades: he infected our nation, he poisoned minds and information, that evil clown, who will not be missed.
Let us all now observe just how quickly and intensely the Leftwing will usher in a rewritten — or attempt to rewrite — history to accommodate a Goodly Grandfatherly image of Walter Cronkite, which will be yet another drift by the Left into Yellow Journalism, which, at least, would honor Cronkite’s chief talent by imitation.

Here’s Walter Cronkite while still infectious publicly proclaiming that he is “here…proud to sit at the right hand of satan” while promoting a one-world-government, the creation of an international criminal court and the reduction of “sovereignity” of nations.
