On this HANNITY & COLMES October 2006 broadcast, hear John Murtha say (twenty-five years ago and yet he remains unaccountable today) he “might consider (accepting a $50,000.00 bribe at a later date) if (they) can do some bidness (at that present time)” to two guys he met in a hotel room who he thought were “Arab princes.”
Just past halfway-through this tape, the astounding information as to this tape having been hidden from the public for “twenty-five years” is revealed and even more astounding (and ridiculous) is Alan Colmes‘ attempt to diminish the tape content itself by ridiculing that the tape has even been released. Colmes says, “would you be releasing this if he [John Murtha] was not seeking a leader’s position?”
What about that “leader’s position”? Colmes seems aghast that the tape has been released and not at all concerned that a corrupt guy may be be placed into “a leader’s position”. In fact, he’s quite intensely not concerned with Murtha’s corruption but only with the fact that the tape has been released! Timing! Colmes is upset with the timing and about the upcoming November 06 election, and not with Murtha’s character.
About that corrupt character, as previously mentioned here:
The buzzword last Tuesday, November 06, 2006, is said to have been “corruption.”
Yet, when you cast aside corruption for the corrupt, what gain is that?
Regarding Murtha, Pelosi added: “Your strong voice for national security, the war on terror and Iraq provides genuine leadership for our party, and I count on you to continue to lead on these vital issues. For this and for all you have done for Democrats in the past and especially this last year, I am pleased to support your candidacy for Majority Leader for the 110th Congress.”
That works if you believe Pelosi does not embrace the corrupt. I don’t. Here’s another tape of many — some of whom served in our U.S. military — who don’t, either:
