First, Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Chris Martin name their child, “Apple.” A very odd name I must say. As if that wasn’t strange enough…Nicolas Cage had a baby boy Monday. What did he and his wife, Alice Kim Cage, name their child?
Kal-el.
Kal-el…as in Superman’s true name.
Nicolas’s son’s full name will be “Kal-el Coppola Cage.”
I hope the Cage family invests in boxing lessons…at an early age…because there is no doubt going to be incessant teasing at school.
Perhaps, Nicolas is just excited over the film that’s due to be released next year? But, then again…perhaps he truly is a geek…afterall, Nicolas got his stage name from the Marvel superhero, “Luke Cage.”

‘Coppola’ more or less makes sense, since I think Francis Ford is Cage’s uncle.
But if I’m that kid, I start going by ‘Cal’ the moment I learn the difference between ‘C’ and ‘K,’ and I disavow any knowledge of my True Name.
OTOH, all the other kids in the Beverly Hills school system by that time will have effed-up names anyway, so he’ll probably be in the normal half of that curve…
