SITE EDIT, 12/10/07 – This post is by former site contributor, “justaguy“, whose author title isn’t recreated on these republished posts of his after the site was upgraded to the use of MT 4.0 (his work was successfully imported and republished but his User Account was not, and, thus, this manual edit to identify the contributions on this blog by “justaguy“.)
In other words, “justaguy”‘s posts have been imported and republished using the site Admin. account, which is mine, “-S-”, although I did not write these posts.

I caught “The Girl Next Door” on HBO the other night…I had absolutely no impetus to rush out and view the film within the theaters…it’s basically “Risky Business”…but a few quotes from the film popped into my mind…while I’m sitting here watching live8 (the G8 concerts)…
“You wanna be president? Lemme tell you the first rule of politics; Always know if the juice is worth the squeeze.” ~ Kelly (The Girl Next Door)
I’m all for helping the plight of the poor…and especially Africa…writing off their debt…increasing aid, etc…but it can’t stop there. I see all of these celebs (Madonna, Susan Sarandon, Natalie Portman, etc.) on stage…advocating to help the poor, etc….but they’re completely against regime changes, etc. in various countries.
I ask these celebs…
How is this aid going to get to individuals that need it? How about those warlords intercepting food supplies in Somalia?
Would you support the use of force…if necessary?
So I ask…what Kelly asked in “The Girl Next Door”….”Now you gotta ask yourself, how far are you willing to go, hmm?”
P.S.
Finally…I wish the G8 (live8) concerts were focused more on poverty as a whole…rather than just Africa.
