Obviously, a certain popularity on the internet is created by and when a certain liberal mindset is perpetuated. As in, d’oh, the appeal is the attraction of self affirmation.
WONKETTE says this in a recent NEWSWEEK interview (“Fast Chat: The Wonkette“) in a 78rpm chipmunk squeak heat, abbreviated in more ways than one:
NEWSWEEK: What did you think of the bloggers’ role in the Dan Rather affair?
WONKETTE: I think they did a disservice to the debate because they made the debate about the documents and not about the president of the United States. There was another half to that story that had to do with verifiable events of what Bush may have been up to.
Um, no, Wonkette, the STORY was about the documents, about Dan Rather and producer Mapes and network CBS and about fraud. And about comingling of those perpetuating fraud for the sake of political gain by misleading the public by manipulating ethics in journalism, or, more bluntly, by means of violating ethics in journalism so badly that CBS insight has been reduced to fodder for Wonkette gossip.
